Lee Sujeong, CEO of E4Net, an IT company, received gold and silver prizes and Minister of Science and ICT Award as a special prize, in recognition of her achievements in inventing the blockchain-based charity platform 'CHERRY' at the 15th Korea International Women’s Invention Exposition ceremony held at KINTEX on the 27th.

CEO Lee Sujeong submitted her invention CHERRY under the theme of 'autonomous blockchain-based donation system and method' and won the gold prize and the special prize of Minister of Science and ICT Award. CHERRY School, one of CHERRY's services, was submitted under the theme of 'Complete online service management system and method' and won the silver prize. CHERRY School is an online volunteer school that provides education and online promotion opportunities for volunteering and donations to students.

Regarding this award, CEO Lee Sujeong said, "It is a great honor to receive a meaningful award at the Korea International Women’s Invention Exposition."

The Korea International Women’s Invention Exposition is a global event held every year to promote women's business activities and expand exchanges between women inventors and entrepreneurs around the world by providing opportunities to exhibit and promote women's inventions. Due to the influence of Corona 19, it was held online for the past two years, but it was held as an in-person event for the first time in three years this year. 280 female inventors from 18 countries participated in the event, which was held for three days from the 25th to the 27th at KINTEX, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, and submitted 306 inventions.

E4Net participated in the event by setting up a booth to introduce CHERRY and hold an event to present pop artist Kim Il-dong's NFT application ticket and postcard to visitors who signed up for CHERRY on the spot, and received a good response.

CHERRY, Korea's first blockchain-based charity platform launched in December 2019, has been widely recognized for its technical excellence. CHERRY, which proved its excellence by beating prominent conglomerates in the 'Private Sector Led Blockchain Project Competition' hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, already in March 2019, even before the official release, has been listed as a use case in the blockchain and distributed ledger sector by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for the first time in Korea. Up to date, four domestic patents have been registered, and two overseas patents are pending.

With CHERRY, donors can easily donate through the app, and thanks to blockchain technology, donors can see the donation flow transparently. According to the statistics surveyed by CHERRY as of the end of last year, the usage rate among young people is high enough that 4 out of 5 donors with the highest personal donation amount are from Millennials and Gen Z. In May, thanks to the active participation of the generations, CHERRY achieved the feat of recording a cumulative donation of 4 billion won in about 2 years and 6 months after its launch, and is about to achieve 5 billion won soon.
