Geumran Church opens an on-tact donation campaign to help medical staff who have been burned out (exhausted) due to the prolonged and re-proliferation of Corona 19. This campaign, along with Keumran Church, is a form of crowdfunding that any general citizen can participate in, and will be conducted through the blockchain charity app ‘CHERRY Hope Sharing Platform (hereinafter referred to as CHERRY)’.
Recognizing the seriousness of the re-proliferation of COVID-19, Geumran Church conducted an on-tact donation campaign as part of helping medical staff to prevent COVID-19.
Geumran Church sponsored 20 million won as the first donor, and for this campaign, church officials visited the Jungnang-gu public health center to listen to the difficulties of medical staff and deliver items that needed urgent support to medical staff.
As the medical staff complained of physical exhaustion such as exhaustion and dizziness due to continuous sample testing in the heat of over 30 degrees while wearing protective clothing, Geumran Church decided to provide health supplements such as red ginseng extract and portable air conditioners. In addition, masks and group T-shirts are provided to public health centers and local respiratory-related medical institutions. Donated items are delivered to 230 public health center screening medical staff and working staff and 64 medical institutions.
Geumran Church has been donating 100 million won to the Jungnang-gu scholarship fund, lighting a Christmas tree and sharing love for neighbors, Jungnang-gu Children's Festival, and Mangubon-dong Senior Citizens' Party. Through this, by practicing the church's love for neighbors, "Love your neighbor," we are continuing to build trust and service with the local community.
Meanwhile, recently, at Keumran Church, one confirmed case of Corona 19 occurred due to infection outside the church. However, an epidemiological investigation was conducted at the church level by securing data such as the movement of confirmed persons through quarantine agencies, and there were no additional confirmed cases due to infection inside the church, demonstrating the thorough quarantine system of Geumran Church.

The public fundraising campaign will be held from August 27 to September 30 through the charity app “CHERRY Hope Sharing Platform (hereafter CHERRY).”
To participate in the donation, search for “CHERRY” in app markets such as Google Play and the App Store, and then download the “CHERRY Hope Sharing Platform” app to participate. After selecting the ‘Bundle of Hearts for Burnout Medical Centers with Geumran Church’ campaign, people of all ages and genders can easily participate by conveniently paying donations through various payment methods such as simple account, card payment, Naver Pay, L,pay, etc. In addition, since you can participate in any amount from 1,000 won, it is an advantage that even small donors can practice donation without any burden.
CHERRY is Korea's first blockchain-based charity platform launched last year. It is a charity platform that uses blockchain technology to record and transparently disclose the entire process from fundraising to delivery, dramatically reducing the possibility of misuse of donations. CHERRY received the 2019 Minister of Science and Technology Information and Communication Award in recognition of its contribution to vitalizing the blockchain-fintech industry. Currently, 71 donation organizations are conducting fundraising activities, and they are showing remarkable growth based on the reliability of donations, with cumulative donations of 100 million won in 25 weeks after launch and exceeding 200 million won in 11 weeks thereafter.
Lee Sujeong , CEO of E4Net, which develops and operates CHERRY, said, “We have provided the CHERRY platform so that not only members of Keumran Church but also the general public can easily participate in helping medical staff.” We hope that the app will serve as an opportunity to help medical staff who are suffering from the prolonged corona crisis.”
