Blockchain donation platform 'Cherry' announced, "On the 6th, we held the '2024 WERACLE WALK' together with WERACLE and the UNICEF Korea Committee," and added, "Through this event, we raised 90 million won in donations to support children in Gaza Strip."
'2024 WERACLE WALK' is a walking donation contest hosted by Park Wi, a YouTuber and Cherry ambassador who runs the YouTube channel 'WERACLE' The entire participation fee of the contest will be donated to children's support projects in Gaza Strip through the Korean Committee for UNICEF."
Cherry and Wiracle held this event for the second time, following last year's "Miracle Walking Challenge" to help Ukrainian children. 2,000 participants raised about 90 million won by walking approximately 7.3 kilometers round trip from the Mulbit Stage at Yeouido Hangang Park to the soccer field at Yanghwa Hangang Park. Companies such as E4net, Korea Rental, Lululemon, Nongshim, VONO Soup, and BGF Retail supported the event with sponsorships and donations of goods.
"I wanted to convey the importance of life by reminding people that every day we live is a miracle," Park Wi said. "I'm sure our small steps will come together to give hope to the children in Gaza Strip."
Lee Soo-jung, CEO of Cherry, said, "Just as today's steps have come together to create a miracle of hope, Cherry offers various campaigns for practicing donation." adding, "Please continue to make donations a part of your daily life even after this event."
Cherry is Korea's first blockchain-based donation platform, increasing the transparency and reliability of donations. It is increasing the accessibility of donations by operating a "Cherry Walk" that is donated while walking and a "Cherry Photo Donation Photo Studio" that allows donations only when taking photos.
