Korea’s first blockchain-based charity platform, ‘Good Day for Donation, CHERRY’ (hereafter CHERRY), together with World Human Bridge, will hold the ‘2021 People Love Life Walk Festival’ to mark the suicide prevention week in September.

In September of last year, due to social distancing due to the sudden outbreak of COVID-19, World Human Bridge held the annual ‘People Love Life Love Walking Festival’ with CHERRY for the first time in a non-face-to-face format. At that time, 815 participants successfully completed the event by walking a total of 3.4 million steps.

Thanks to such success stories, the 2nd walking festival event was held this year. In the same way as last year, everything from participation application to walking on the day of the event will be conducted non-face-to-face through the CHERRY app. T-shirts, mini banners with phrases of love for life, and masks engraved with the festival logo will be presented to participants who apply through the CHERRY app by August 31st. Participation fees will be used for suicide prevention campaigns and education, and support for families bereaved by suicide.

In this event, which starts at 9:00 am on September 12, anyone who has not applied for participation can participate in the walk through the CHERRY app, and in the case of participants who have applied, they can wear T-shirts, banners, and masks and maintain social distance. Wherever you are, you can participate in the walking festival by using the in-app step counter, real-time participant check, and ranking check function.

If you complete your participation in the walking festival by walking 1,004 steps, you can upload your own step verification card to SNS, and after the event, an event to present a surprise gift to participants through a lottery is scheduled, raising expectations from prospective participants. there is.

On the other hand, the person in charge of the suicide prevention center ‘Life Hope’, which received donations through last year’s walking festival, gave a heart-warming review, saying that they were able to open a small counseling center thanks to the donations in September of last year. He said, “What the bereaved families need most is someone they can feel free to share their wounds with. Through the opening of a counseling center specializing in bereaved families, 40 or so bereaved families who had to be sent back can receive counseling due to the lack of counseling personnel.” said. In addition, through efforts such as supporting counseling and self-help groups for those at risk of suicide, distributing Children's Day gifts to children of bereaved families on Children's Day, and delivering scholarships to teenagers bereaved by suicide, the supporters' interest and love for suicide have increased. He added that he would do his best to help the bereaved family go well until the end.
