iM Bank donated 19.67 million won through the Cherry Donation Platform.
Cherry, Korea's first blockchain-based donation platform, announced on the 10th that it has launched the "iM1967 Campaign with Yana" to commemorate iM Bank's approval to switch to a commercial bank
With the business agreement, iM Bank has established a "donating" function within the iM Bank app in cooperation with Cherry, which has enabled transparent donations with blockchain technology, so that anyone can easily donate.
In commemoration of iM Bank's approval to convert into commercial banks, the fundraising campaign revisited the significance of its founding year in 1967. A total of 19.67 million won was raised, and the entire amount was donated to Yana, a corporation.
Yana Corporation is an organization that helps children protecting facilities and young people preparing to become self-reliant. The donation raised through this campaign will be used to select four child care facilities and support small group trips during summer vacation and activities during vacation.
A Cherry official said, "Anyone can participate in the iM1967 campaign with Yana through the Cherry subscription process," adding, "In the future, Cherry and iM Bank plan to promote various affiliate services to expand their fundraising, such as donating ATMs."
Meanwhile, Cherry is a donation platform with increased transparency by recording all donation information from fundraising to use on the blockchain in real time. Currently, the project is operated in partnership with about 400 donation organizations. In April, it held an agreement ceremony with DGB Daegu Bank to expand social finance and signed a business agreement on the establishment of a digital donation platform.
